General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Policy

In order to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (25 May 2018), which   protects the rights of individuals with regard to the way an organisation collects, stores, uses and disposes of their personal data, Friends of Portland Works (FoPW) will adhere to the following policies.

1. Collection of data

(a) Data collected from each member will be name, postal address, email address and telephone number.

(b) The data will be used to communicate information including details of activities, decisions and financial matters to supporters as appropriate.

(c)  Each member will be contacted and asked to agree for their personal data being collected and stored by FoPW for this purpose.

2. Storage of data

(a)  The data will be stored in the form of electronic spreadsheets and as hard copy.

(b)  Copies of the data will be held by the Secretary and Chair of FoPW.

(c)  Other Trustees may have access to the data as appropriate.

(d)  Data will not be shared with any third parties unless required by law.

(e)  The data will be stored for as long as an individual remains a supporter of FoPW and deleted when they cease to be a supporter.

(f)  Supporters of FoPW have the right to have access to their data, to have their data corrected and to have their data erased at any time.
